January 1, 2016
Be thankful for a New Year’s Day that doesn’t begin with Mars opposing Jupiter or the Sun uniting with Pluto — what happened on January 1, 2015 and 2014, respectively. Greeting you from the cosmic perspective are a potentially harmony-producing Libra Moon (regarding your key relationships) and a love-enhancing, 60-degree alliance between the Moon and Venus in Sagittarius (4:07AM). Rejoice and enjoy your favorite arts, crafts, and hobbies.
While Messenger of the Gods planet Mercury shifts from earthy Capricorn to airy Aquarius (6:21PM), this important planet associated with communications, transportation, health and business matters is slowing down as it prepares to go retrograde for three weeks on Tuesday January 5. Plus, King of the Gods Jupiter is also reducing its daily speed as this largest planetary body in our solar system goes into reverse on January 7 in a retrograde cycle lasting until May 9.
Under these somewhat unsettling celestial circumstances beyond personal control and with the arrival of the Last Quarter Sun-Moon Phase (activating 12 degrees of Capricorn and Libra at 9:32PM tonight), it is wise to slow your own tempo to avoid unnecessary hassles and a rising tide of tensions in the psychic atmosphere. Let off some internal steam via exercise, fun, and games as the Sun forms an inspirational, 72-degree rapport with Mars (9:41PM).
